NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES

By November 21, 2017January 16th, 2024No Comments

In the aftermath of the devastating fires that burned at least 245,000 acres, killed 43 people, and destroyed nearly 9,000 structures, many residents are looking for answers.

Andrews & Thornton has sent two expert investigators to Northern California to investigate the cause of these fires.

One expert has decades of experience working for electric utilities. He has consulted and testified in high-profile cases involving electrical-origin fires, including the 2007 Witch Creek Fire in San Diego. He has been advocating for safer practices in transmission line installation and maintenance for more than a decade. Unlike other fire investigators, he has experience working for the utilities and he understands how electrical system failures can cause fires at many ignition sites almost simultaneously.

Our second expert is an arson investigator assigned to investigate the exact origin sites of these fires. His training and experience allow him to identify and, when possible, eliminate potential causes. He is a former Division Chief of the Orange County Fire Authority who comes to us with decades of experience with California firefighting services.

On behalf of our clients, our firm has set up an extensive field investigation to identify the causes of these fires in Northern California and the parties who may be liable.

If you or a loved one has suffered harm as a result of these fires please call 949-748-1000 or 800-664-1734 for a free consultation to see if you have a case. Visit us at www.andrewsthornton.com.

Follow our blog for future updates as we expect to have a press release out soon with some initial findings from our investigation.
