Carvello endured and exposed horrific sexual harassment by top male executives at Atlantic Records
NEW YORK, NY — Civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump of Ben Crump Law will stand with advocate Gretchen Carlson and former Atlantic Records music executive Dorothy Carvello to call out chronic and continuing sexual abuse of women in the music industry at a news conference on March 8. Attorney Crump will join Carvello’s all-star legal team, including Anne Andrews of Andrews & Thornton and Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez of Brown Rudnick.
Carvello was repeatedly subjected to conduct constituting sexual offenses under New York Law by former Atlantic Records Chairman Ahmet Ertegun and male executives at Atlantic Records between 1987 and 1990.
Carvello’s lawsuit, which was filed in December under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, documents a “toxic office culture for women” at Atlantic Records.
Defendants Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, the Ertegun Estate, and Morris have filed motions to dismiss the lawsuit.
Under the Adult Survivors Act, Crump also represents 750 formerly incarcerated persons who survived sexual assault in New York State prisons.
Attorneys Crump and Andrews are seeking to make music companies release women from their NDAs.
