Elham Amiri was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She received her medical degree from the second-best university in Iran, Beheshti University. After graduating from medical school, she worked as a general practitioner for two years and then began her training in Psychiatry/Neurology. Her residency training, she worked as a psychiatrist and family and marriage counselor while also beginning a fellowship in child psychiatry. Elham subsequently applied for residency training in the U.S. and was accepted at the University of California, Irvine in 2014. In 2017, she started law school at Chapman University, wanting to combine her zealous passion for patient care with advocacy for plaintiffs who have been taken advantage of by the pharmaceutical industry and other wrongdoers. She has been an active member of the California Bar Association since 2021.
Elham joined Andrews & Thornton in 2019, when she was a second-year law student and in need of completing her externship training. Ever since, she has been helping the law firm manage tens of thousands of cases in various opioid manufacturer bankruptcies, including Purdue Pharma, Endo, Mallinckrodt as well as in the new Hair Relaxer MDL by using her medical background and legal training. She has tirelessly helped clients face the injustices committed by these defendants, helping the firm prepare thousands of proofs of claims and opioid Trust claim submissions on behalf of victims. She also participates in scientific research regarding other claims involving personal injuries related to medical product liabilities.
Elham is married and she and her husband enjoy various hobbies (foreign languages, traveling, dancing and gardening), the most important of which is raising their shih tzu puppy, Valentino. Elham Amiri is admitted to practice in the State of California.
